NCCOR Communications

NCCOR seeks to communicate its mission, purpose and priorities, and activities to a variety of target audiences, as well as to demonstrate the commitment of CDC, NIH and RWJF to reducing childhood obesity. To build awareness and understanding of how NCCOR will improve the efficiency, effectiveness and application of childhood obesity research through enhanced coordination and collaboration, NCCOR launched this website in February 2009 and began a monthly e-newsletter in April 2009. Now with almost 1,600 subscribers, the NCCOR e-Newsletter provides updates on NCCOR activities, webinars and events, funding opportunities, and identifies key findings and news, with relevance to childhood obesity research, intervention and translation.

Overseen by the NCCOR Strategic Communications Workgroup, the Collaborative will continue to offer a suite of promotional products and communicate to various audiences, i.e., leadership and internal audiences, external audiences and policymakers. Also, NCCOR desires to maintain bidirectional relationships with these audiences (e.g., continue to offer opportunities for feedback through the e-newsletter and website functions, continue to conduct surveys of audiences to gather guiding information for NCCOR projects, and to continue to get guidance from experts in the field on NCCOR projects).
