Active Living Research launches enhanced website

The Active Living Research (ALR) program recently redesigned their website, www.activelivingresearch.org, to make it easier for users to search for information and resources on active living and identify key evidence to help prevent childhood obesity and promote active communities.

Some of the new website features include:

  • MOVE! blog – The blog contains the latest information on ALR’s work and provides a way for users to stay updated with what’s going on in the field.  Users can share their stories by commenting on posts.
  • Updated search function – A new search function allows users to search all of ALR’s resources by keywords or topic areas, including traffic calming, trails and greenways, pedestrian facilities, zoning and mixed land use, and more.
  • Audience-specific pages – ALR has added special pages for advocates, practitioners, and policy-makers to help users locate information specific to their role in the field.
  • Online literature database – The searchable database is a user-friendly resource for researchers, policy-makers, and anyone interested in the relationship between environment and policy with physical activity and obesity.
  • Social media tools – All of ALR’s resources can easily be shared via social media icons. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter at @AL_Research and like us on Facebook!

ALR is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The primary goal of the program is to support and share research on environmental and policy strategies that can promote daily physical activity for children and families across the United States.
