Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program

Purpose: The Community Foods Projects competitive program supports projects that work across the food system to increase the self-reliance of communities in providing for the food needs of the communities; and promotes comprehensive responses to local food access, farm, and nutrition issues, including strategies to reduce food waste, and other agricultural needs that mutually benefit agricultural producers and consumers.

 

In FY 2023 NIFA’s CFPCGP intends to solicit applications and fund three types of grants. The grant types are entitled (1) Training and Technical Assistance (T&TA) Projects, (2) Planning Projects (PP) and (3) Community Food Projects (CFP).

Total Awards: Award not to exceed $250,000 awarded annually on continuation basis; not to exceed $1M over 4 years
