To enhance the quality of prevention research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) seeks to identify individuals with appropriate methodological and content expertise who might serve as reviewers of research applications in the field of prevention.
By completing the Prevention Research Expertise Survey investigators will provide the content for an “electronic directory.” NIH Scientific Review Officers will use the directory to identify researchers with expertise in specific prevention science methods and content areas to serve as reviewers. Focus areas include:
- Study design topics
- Research methods
- Content topics
- Settings
- Populations
The directory may also be used to identify appropriate experts for other NIH activities such as serving on panels, committees, workgroups, writing groups, or for similar purposes by other federal agencies.
