On Thursday, November 17, 2022, NCCOR hosted a Connect & Explore webinar titled “Create Thriving, Activity-Friendly Communities.”
An expert panel demonstrated how to use NCCOR’s new tool, Create Thriving, Activity-Friendly Communities: Making the Case for Investments in Activity-Friendly Communities, and discussed how focusing on economic benefits can promote physical activity.
Featured speakers included:
- Hatidza Zaganjor, MPH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Cole Youngner, MPH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Mark Fenton, MS, adjunct associate professor at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and public health, planning, and active transportation consultant.
This tool can help communities meet the demand for inclusive spaces that promote physical activity. It contains a customizable presentation, talking points, research articles, and a factsheet to share. NCCOR also added an Economic Indicators Library to help communities develop equitable initiatives where all residents can thrive.
