While childhood obesity remains a global public health challenge, many communities around the world are showing signs of progress and demonstrating innovation in halting and reversing the childhood obesity epidemic. On March 22, 2016, the Connect & Explore Webinar highlighted NCCOR’s Childhood Obesity Declines project, designed to look at communities where declines have occurred and explore in depth, the perceptions of potential drivers. Three of the four U.S. communities—Anchorage, AK; New York City, NY; and Philadelphia, PA joined NCCOR to describe the strategies that may have influenced reported declines, barriers and opportunities, and lessons learned.
