The recently developed Transportation and Health Tool (THT) enables practitioners to examine the health impact of transportation systems. The tool was launched by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) in partnership with the American Public Health Association.
The Transportation and Health Tool provides data on 14 transportation and public health indicators for each state, metropolitan statistical area, and urbanized area with respect to safety, active transportation, air quality, and connectivity to destinations.
The tool can be used to quickly see how a city, state, or region compares with others in addressing key transportation and health issues. It also provides information and resources to help agencies better understand the links between transportation and health, and to identify strategies to improve public health through transportation planning and policy.
CDC and DOT will conduct a webinar and demonstration of the THT on Monday, Nov. 9, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. To register, please click here.
