Improving research on children at high risk for obesity: When to apply, adapt, or develop a measureJAN 26
On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) is hosting a Connect & Explore Webinar called “Improving research on children at high risk for obesity: When to apply, adapt, or develop a measure.” The webinar will highlight NCCOR’s latest resource, Measures for Children at High Risk for Obesity, which includes an interactive decision tree that walks researchers and practitioners through a series of questions regarding whether to develop, adapt, or apply an instrument for obesity measures in high-risk populations, as well as five real-world case scenarios that describe the rationale for choosing one of the measurement approaches.
The webinar will highlight the process of developing the decision tree and walk through three case scenarios: 1) How to apply a measure to use in a different population, 2) How to adapt a measure for use in a different population, and 3) How to develop a new measure for your research/evaluation project.
Hear from the authors of the resource and case studies during the Connect & Explore Webinar:
- Latetia Moore, PhD, MSPH, Deputy Associate Director of Science, Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
