On March 5, 2020 the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) hosted its first student-focused Connect & Explore titled, NCCOR’s Tools in Action: Featuring the Summer Physical Activity and Friendship Study. The webinar featured Tyler Prochnow, a Baylor University graduate student, who shared his experience using NCCOR’s Measures Registry to enhance his project with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. His longitudinal study aimed to add to the literature surrounding the decrease in physical activity over summer and elaborated on the role friends play in physical activity behavior. Additional speakers were Drs. David Berrigan from the National Institutes of Health and Sarah Sliwa from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to answer questions relating to the Measures Registry.
This webinar was a great opportunity for students to hear first-hand how the Measures Registry Resource Suite can help students with their research and classwork.
