New funding opportunities at global childhood obesity center

The Johns Hopkins Global Center on Childhood Obesity (JHGCCO) has recently announced an RFA for new rapid response funding opportunities.

The JHGCCO, supported by the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR), works to combat the childhood obesity epidemic by supporting systems science approaches to research and training. It has funding available for up to three projects per round, each at $20,000 to $30,000 total cost, (two rounds per year, semi-annually). This RFA provides funds for researchers to collect time-sensitive data for impending environmental or policy changes.

More information about the nature of these pilot project grants will be available during an informational teleconference that will take place on Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. (ET). To participate in this call, please email Li Chen with a subject line of “Childhood Obesity Pilot Project Conference Call,” and provide your contact information.

Further information can be found in the attached RFA document.

The deadline for proposals is March 30, 2012.
