On January 26, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 pm E.T., the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) hosted a webinar to discuss its new resource to improve measurement on children at high risk for obesity. This resource includes a decision tree that walks researchers and practitioners through a series of questions regarding whether to develop, adapt, or apply an instrument for obesity measures in high-risk populations. The decision tree also provides five real-world case scenarios that describe the rationale for choosing one of the three measurement approaches. During this webinar, you will hear from the authors of the resource and case scenarios:

  • Latetia Moore, PhD, MSPH, Deputy Associate Director for Science, Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Teresia O’Connor, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Academic General Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine
  • Melicia C. Whitt-Glover, PhD, FACSM, President and CEO, Gramercy Research; Executive Director, Council on Black Health
  • Stella Yi, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor, Department of Population Health, NYU Grossman School of Medicine
